FlyAway® Safety Rules

The safety and security of our guests and employees that travel on the FlyAway® is our first priority. Los Angeles World Airports continues to monitor and update protocols with the FlyAway® in accordance with the CDC and local city rulings. Some frequently asked questions regarding the FlyAway® service and COVID-19 are answered below.

Do I need to COVID test in order to travel on the FlyAway®?

No, COVID tests are not required to ride the FlyAway®. We recommend that you check with your airline provider to ensure that a COVID test is not required in order to fly. If you are looking for a rapid COVID test, you can find the latest information at LAX Rapid COVID Testing.

Do I need to be vaccinated in order to travel on the FlyAway®?

No, vaccinations are not required to travel on the FlyAway®, but are highly encouraged. If you are unvaccinated and interested in receiving the vaccine, you can find our latest vaccination sites at LAX COVID Vaccination Site.

What precautions should passengers take to stop the spread of coronavirus?

  •  Do not enter the bus or plan to take the FlyAway® if you are experiencing symptoms of respiratory illness including fever or cough.
  •  Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer frequently, and avoid touching your face.
  •  Stay 6 feet away from other people to the greatest extent possible.

What precautions has LAWA taken to stop the spread of coronavirus?

  •  Each bus is cleaned daily with virus and bacteria killing disinfectants. With guidance from local transit agencies, FlyAway reduced capacity of each bus to maintain social distancing at the height of the pandemic. Currently, the capacity is at 100%, but is subject to change at any time without notice.
  •  Our Van Nuys terminal is equipped with hand sanitizing dispensers and signage displaying information on how to reduce the spread of illness and symptoms of the coronavirus.
