LOS ANGELES WORLD AIRPORTS’ UTILITY AND ENABLING PROJECT COMPLETES 38 PROJECTS TO SUPPORT MODERNIZATION EFFORTS
(Los Angeles, CA) Los Angeles World Airports’ (LAWA) Utility and Landside Access Modernization Program Enabling Project (LULEP) successfully came to a close this month after completing 38 different projects over the last three years in support of Los Angeles International Airport’s (LAX) modernization efforts. LULEP was integral in preparing the Central Terminal Area (CTA), as well as several surrounding roadways and project sites, for construction of the Automated People Mover (APM), Consolidated Rent-A-Car (ConRAC) facility, Intermodal Transportation Facilities (ITF) and new roadways.

FACE COVERINGS WILL BE REQUIRED AT LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT BEGINNING MONDAY, MAY 11

(Los Angeles, CA) Beginning Monday, May 11, all persons within Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) terminals will be required to wear face coverings. This policy is in line with guidance from public health officials and mirrors the City of Los Angeles’ policy regarding the use of face coverings in stores and restaurants.

LAWA TO ADJUST FLYAWAY BUS SCHEDULE BEGINNING MARCH 28
(Los Angeles, CA) As a result of drastically decreased ridership due to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) will reduce the frequency of FlyAway bus service on the Van Nuys and Union Station routes, and temporarily suspend operations on the Hollywood and Long Beach lines starting Saturday, March 28.

LANE CLOSURES PLANNED AT TERMINALS 2-3 ON UPPER/DEPARTURES LEVEL

Nightly work to install a temporary sidewalk and protective canopy on the Upper/Departures Level between Terminals 2 and 3 will close both drop-off lanes in the vicinity of the construction area for approximately five weeks starting on Friday, March 20.

LAX IMPLEMENTS NIGHTTIME CLOSURE POLICY - TERMINALS, PARKING STRUCTURES AND AREAS WITHIN THE CTA CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC BETWEEN MIDNIGHT AND 5 A.M.

(Los Angeles, CA) Due to heavy overnight construction, limited early morning flight activity, terminal cleaning and sanitizing protocols and a priority to keep all guests and employees at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) safe and healthy, LAX’s Central Terminal Area (CTA) will be closed to the public nightly between midnight and 5 a.m. except for:

  • Ticketed airline passengers and persons meeting, accompanying or assisting them (Airline check-in counters and federal passenger security screening will be open depending upon flight schedules for each terminal); and
  • Airport and City Personnel whose employment requires their presence.
