LAX ANNOUNCES FAA TO CONDUCT TEMPORARY FLIGHT CHECK OPERATIONS, DEC. 14 TO DEC. 18, 2015
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will be conducting flight check operations at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) from Monday, December 14 through Friday, December 18 to ensure that the Instrument Landing System (ILS) and other navigational equipment are working properly.  These flight checks will require LAX to temporarily deviate from normal traffic flow configuration for a few hours each day during that week.

AIRPORT AND INGLEWOOD OFFICIALS TOUR 2,000TH INGLEWOOD HOME TO RECEIVE SOUND INSULATION IN 2015

Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) Executive Director Deborah Flint, City of Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts, Jr., and Inglewood City Manager Artie Fields today toured the 2,000th Inglewood home to complete sound insulation work in 2015.

Today, more than 7,057 Inglewood residential units have completed sound proofing, of which more than 2,000 will be sound insulated this year alone.

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) officials advise motorists that road restriping will cause nightly lane closures on the 96th Street Bridge, Sky Way, and the southbound Sepulveda Ramp beginning TONIGHT, Tuesday, December 8 through Friday, December 11, 2015.  Restriping work and lane closures will occur between 12 midnight to 6 a.m. for the next four early-morning periods.

LOW-COST FLYAWAY® BUS SERVICE BETWEEN LAX AND VAN NUYS ORANGE LINE BUSWAY BEGINS DECEMBER 7
A new, low-cost FlyAway® bus service boarding location for Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on the south side of Victory Boulevard just east of Woodley Avenue, is scheduled to begin operation on Monday, December 7. The stop is located just a short distamce from the existing Woodley station along the Orange Line Busway, in the Van Nuys neighborhood of Lake Balboa.

Pontus Willfors’ Douglas Fir Reclaimed is a site-specific installation of hundreds of salvaged planks of Douglas fir that have been sanded and chiseled to reveal a ghostly image of a Douglas fir tree spanning the hallway of Terminal 3 Arrivals Level.

DAVIDSON DRIVE ACCESS TO LAX SCHEDULED FOR CLOSURE DECEMBER 1
Due to runway construction activity at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) the Davidson Drive access to LAX will be closed to the general public in both directions between Alverstone Avenue and Sky Way.  The closurewhich is permanent,   is part of the umbrella project of runway 6R-24L safety area improvements.

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) will temporarily close its north inboard runway 24L/6R for 54.5 hours beginning Saturday at 12:01 a.m. and continuing to Monday, November 23, at 6:30 a.m. for Runway Safety Area (RSA) improvements. In addition, during the last 6.5 hours of this closure, LAX will also close the north outboard runway 24R/6L.

LOS ANGELES WORLD AIRPORTS ANNOUNCES PROCUREMENT PROGRAM FOR $5-BILLION LAX LANDSIDE ACCESS MODERNIZATION PROGRAM
The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners today announced plans to deliver a world-class transportation system to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) through the estimated $5-billion Landside Access Modernization Program (LAMP).  The centerpiece of LAMP will be an Automated People Mover (APM) that will connect the Central Terminal Area (CTA) with a new Consolidated Rent-A-Car facility (CONRAC), with stops in-between at new airport parking facilities and a station connecting to the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) regional transit system.

RECORD 2.1 MILLION PASSENGERS EXPECTED AT LAX THIS THANKSGIVING; LAX TO BE BUSIEST U.S. AIRPORT THIS HOLIDAY TRAVEL PERIOD
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and City Councilmember Bob Blumenfield were joined today by airport officials to announce that a record 2.1 million travelers will pass through Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) this Thanksgiving, an increase of 6.9 percent over last Thanksgiving’s record of 1.96 million actual passengers.  According to online travel company Orbitz.com, LAX will be the busiest among all U.S. airports this Thanksgiving – the third year in a row.
