LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT CONTINUES LOW CRIME LEVELS
    (Los Angeles, California – February 13, 2009)  Major crime continues to be almost non-existent at Los AngelesInternationalAirport (LAX).  In the category of Part-I Crime, which includes all major categories of crime against persons, there were five aggravated assaults reported in 2008, compared to four in 2007, while robberies remained the same at two incidents.  There were no homicides, rapes or kidnappings.

LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IS HOME TO NATION'S FIRST INDEPENDENT CARGO SCREENING FACILITY MERCURY AIR CARGO WILL PROVIDE ON-AIRPORT TSA-CERTIFIED CARGO SCREENING
(Los Angeles, California — February 2, 2009)  Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) announced today that Mercury Air Cargo, a tenant at Los AngelesInternationalAirport (LAX), has secured certification from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to be the nation's first Independent Cargo Screening Facility (ICSF) under new TSA air cargo screening guidelines that took effect yesterday, February 1, 2009.

LOCAL CULINARY LANDMARK GLADSTONE’S 4 FISH OPENS RESTAURANT AT LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
(Los Angeles, California – January 29, 2009)  Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) and HMSHost Corporation today celebrated the opening of Gladstone’s 4 Fish seafood restaurant – a Southern California culinary landmark in Malibu – at Los AngelesInternationalAirport (LAX).  This is the first airport site for Gladstone’s and the restaurant is located in Terminal 3 after passenger security screening.

(Los Angeles, California – January 28, 2009) – The public comment period has been extended until February 4, 2009 for the Notice of Preparation (NOP) of a Draft Environmental Impact Report for Los Angeles International Airport’s (LAX) Tom Bradley International Terminal Reconfiguration Project (TBIT).   The deadline was originally January 28, 2009.
