(Los Angeles, California July 27, 2009) Los AngelesInternationalAirport(LAX) officials announced the closure of I-105 due to guard rail repair work being conducted by the California Department of Transportation. The work will last from 9 am to 2 pm today.
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) officials report water service has returned to normal at Terminal 3, the final terminal impacted by a major water main break last Thursday evening. Water quality tests conducted by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power confirm the water in Terminal 3 meets drinking water standards. Full food and beverage service is expected to be available in the terminal later this afternoon.
Motorists entering and exiting Los AngelesInternationalAirport (LAX) are asked to allow extra time due to a labor demonstration that will take place in the Central Terminal Area from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Officials do not anticipate the worker demonstrations will have material impact on passenger arrivals or departures. However, it is recommended that passengers arrive 2 hours prior to departing domestic flights and 3 hours prior to international departures. Motorist picking up passengers are also asked to allow for extra time and to expect groups of demonstrators crossing streets in and around the Central Terminal Area.
