--MEDIA ADVISORY-- MULTI-AGENCY LAW ENFORCEMENT ACTION AT LOS ANGELES AIRPORT ENHANCES PUBLIC SAFETY FOR USERS OF GROUND TRANSPORTATION
Multi-agency inspection operation is currently underway at LAX with unannounced inspections of commercial ground transportation vehicles (limousines, taxis, shuttle vans, etc). Inspections of commercial vehicles include both mechanical and administrative processes. Los Angeles Airport Police Ground Transportation Enforcement Unit, California Public Utilities Commission and Los Angeles World Airports Landside Operations are concentrating on proper licensing (PUC permits and valid driver’s licenses), airport operating permits, and other law enforcement-related issues. The California Highway Patrol is concentrating on braking systems, passenger restraints and other safety systems required to be in good working order.

MULTI-AGENCY LAW ENFORCEMENT ACTION AT LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ENHANCES PUBLIC SAFETY FOR USERS OF GROUND TRANSPORTATION

(Los Angeles, California – July 19, 2007) A multi-agency law enforcement operation conducted today at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) resulted in seven commercial ground transportation vehicles removed from service and 72 citations issued to drivers for mechanical, misdemeanor and administrative violations.

RESIDENTIAL SOUNDPROOFING CONTRACT AWARDED FOR WORK NEAR LAX
(Los Angeles, California - July 16, 2007) The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners today awarded a contract to Professional Building Contactors, Inc., of El Segundo for a portion of the LAX Residential Soundproofing Program. The $1,038,180 contract covers sound insulation modifications on 51 dwelling units comprised of seven single-family residences, one duplex, one five-unit apartment building, one nine-unit apartment building, one condominium unit at Tuscany Villas, 16 condominium units at Cross Creek Village, and 11 condominium units at Villas del Rey, all within Los Angeles City Council District 11.

FLYAWAY BUS NETWORK ADDS WESTWOOD AS NEW LOCATION TO SERVE TRAVELERS NON-STOP TO LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
(Los Angeles, California – June 14, 2007) Non-stop LAX FlyAway bus service between Westwood and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) began today, offering West Los Angeles travelers a convenient, comfortable and reasonably-priced alternative to driving to the airport. (Palmdale, California -- June 7, 2007)  Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Palmdale Mayor Jim Ledford welcomed United Airlines’ first passenger flight to LA/Palmdale Regional Airport (PMD).  Today’s history-making arrival and departure marks the first time that commercial jet service has operated out of PMD.
