LAX is first U.S. commercial airport to voluntarily reduce mercury through EPA initiative
(Los Angeles, California – June 4, 2007) The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency today honored Los Angeles World Airports for its commitment to remove over 2,200 pounds of mercury at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) as part of the EPA’s National Partnership for Environmental Priorities program.

This year’s award is for "Most Outstanding Overall Program."
