TWO ART EXHIBITIONS CAPTURE LIFE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AT LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
(Los Angeles, California – October 2, 2014) Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) in partnership with the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs announces two new art installations at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) that reveal and re-interpret many facets of L.A.’s influential culture and urban geography through sculpture, painting, and mixed-media works. Gateway to the Sun, a collaborative installation by artists Jamison Carter and Margaret Griffith and guest curated by Elizabeta Betinski, is on view for the public in Terminal 3, Arrivals Hallway, through January 2015.

LA/ONTARIO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT YEAR-TO-DATE PASSENGER VOLUME UP
(Ontario, California – September 25 , 2014) Passenger numbers at LA/Ontario International Airport (ONT) rose 3.19 percent from January 2014 through August 2014, compared to the same period last year.  ONT airlines served 2,726,679travelers compared to 2,642,334 travelers during the same period in 2013.

NEW AUTOMATED PASSPORT CONTROL KIOSKS AT LAX EXPEDITE ENTRY FOR ARRIVING INTERNATIONAL PASSENGERS

Forty (40) new Automated Passport Control (APC) kiosks unveiled today at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) expedite the entry process for international arriving passengers at the airport’s Tom Bradley International Terminal.

U.S. and Canadian citizens arriving from abroad, as well as travelers from the 38 Visa Waiver Countries who are also registered with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) program, are eligible to use the new machines.

READY, SET, PULL! FRIENDS OF ONTARIO AIRPORT AND ONTARIO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT HOST 6TH ANNUAL PLANE PULL FOR USO
(Ontario, CA --- September 17, 2014) Back by popular demand, the Friends of Ontario Airport and Ontario International Airport (ONT) will host the 6th Annual “Pull for Our Heroes” plane pull competition on October 4 benefiting the USO Ontario. The fundraiser will also benefit other non-profit organizations including Travelers Aid of the Inland Empire, Baldy View ROP Foundation and ONT’s educational outreach programs.

LOS ANGELES —Sept. 16, 2014— Southwest Airlines ® (NYSE: LUV) helped kick-off construction of the $508-million Terminal 1 Modernization Program at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) today with a groundbreaking ceremony featuring Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, City Councilman Mike Bonin, City Councilman Tom LaBonge, Los Angeles Airport Commission President Sean O. Burton, Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) Executive Director Gina Marie Lindsey, and Southwest Airlines Vice President of Airport Affairs Bob Montgomery.

SIX LOS ANGELES AIRPORT POLICE OFFICERS TO RECEIVE GOVERNOR’S PUBLIC SAFETY MEDALS OF VALOR FOR HEROISM DURING NOVEMBER 1 SHOOTING AT LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
(Los Angeles, California – September 15, 2014) Today, Los Angeles Airport Police Sergeant Steve Zouzounis and Officers David Lalicker, Brian Lopez, Robert Pedregon, Raymond Woods and Daniel Yu will received Public Safety Officer Medals of Valor from Governor Jerry Brown, for their heroic actions during the November 1, 2013, shooting in Terminal 3 at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).  The ceremony began at 11 a.m. in the State Capitol Building in Sacramento.

(Los Angeles, California – August 29, 2014) Ongoing construction at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is expected to continue to impact travelers during the month of September with sidewalk closures, roadway lane closures, and in-terminal construction. The efforts, part of the multi-billion dollar, capital improvement modernization program underway throughout the airport, will ultimately result in a more modern airport that improves the overall customer experience.
