YOUTH ESTEEM CORPORATION EVENT GIVES 200 STUDENTS SCHOOL SUPPLIES THANKS TO AIRPORT POLICE SUPPORT
  (Los Angeles, California – August 5, 2014) On Saturday August 2nd, Los Angeles Airport Police Youth Cadets participated in the third Annual Backpack School Supply Donation Drive event organized and hosted by Airport Police and the Youth Esteem Corporation (YEC) at the Airport Police Arbor Vitae Training Center. Youth Esteem Corporation is a non-profit organization that strives to make a positive impact on at-risk youth in Los Angeles.

MULTI-AGENCY LAW ENFORCEMENT OPERATION ENHANCES SAFETY FOR TRAVELERS WHO USE GROUND TRANSPORTATION AT LAX
 (Los Angeles, California – August 1, 2014) A multi-agency law enforcement operation conducted on July 31st at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) resulted in five commercial ground transportation vehicles and drivers removed from service, and 32 citations issued to drivers for various vehicle code, administrative and mechanical violations.

STOWAWAY RE-ARRESTED BY LOS ANGELES AIRPORT POLICE
(Los Angeles, California – August 7, 2014)  Following a court appearance on August 6, 2014, in which 62-year old Marilyn Jean Hartman pled no contest to a misdemeanor charge of being a stowaway, Hartman was re-arrested today at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) by Los Angeles Airport Police.

ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATIONS NOW INSTALLED AT LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT OFF-SITE PARKING FACILITY
(Los Angeles, California – August 6, 2014)  Fourteen free electric vehicle (EV) charging stations have been installed in Los Angeles International Airport’s (LAX) Economy Long-term Parking Lot C, located at 96th Street and Sepulveda Boulevard. Electrical charging is free. However, users must pay the posted parking rate.

LAX MODERNIZATION UPDATE: AUGUST CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS, EXPECT PASSENGER IMPACTS

(Los Angeles, California – July 31, 2014) Ongoing construction at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is expected to impact travelers during August with sidewalk closures, roadway lane closures, reduced overhead clearance on the Lower/Arrivals level of the Central Terminal Area (CTA), and in-terminal construction. The efforts, part of the multi-billion-dollar, capital improvement modernization program underway throughout the airport, will ultimately result in a more modern, safe and stylish airport for Los Angeles.

LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT REPORTS PASSENGER LEVEL UP 6.5 PERCENT DURING FIRST HALF OF 2014
 (Los Angeles, California – July 31, 2014)  Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) officials reported today that total passengers during the first six months of 2014 rose 6.5 percent to 34,336,315 passengers from 32,217,517 during the same period last year.  While there was a 5.6 percent growth in domestic passengers to 25,062,714 from 23,715,708 last year, international traffic grew nine percent to 9,273,601 passengers from 8,501,809 in 2014.

ONT PASSENGER VOLUME UP OVER FIRST HALF OF THE YEAR
(Ontario, California – July 29 , 2014)   Passenger numbers at LA/Ontario International Airport (ONT) show an increase of 1.81 percent from January 2014 through June 2104, compared to the same period last year.  ONT airlines served2,002,789 traveler s the first half of 2014 compared to 1,967,223 travelers during the same period in 2013.

LAX ISSUES TRAVEL ADVISORY FOR "CENTURY CRUNCH"

JUST IN TIME FOR “CENTURY CRUNCH” JULY 25-28: LOS ANGELES, SANTA MONICA OFFICIALS CELEBRATE START OF NEW FLYAWAY® BUS SERVICE BETWEEN LAX AND SANTA MONICA
  Los Angeles and Santa Monica officials came together this morning to celebrate the launch of a new, low-cost FlyAway® bus service providing nonstop service between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and the City of Santa Monica. The new FlyAway® bus service begins tomorrow, Tuesday, July 15, and will operate hourly from 5:45 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. daily, including weekends and holidays, departing both locations 15 minutes before each hour. One-way fare is $8, with children five years old and under free.
