(Los Angeles, CA – September 10, 2006) The landmark series of 26 colorfully lighted pylons at the Century Boulevard entrance to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) were relit tonight at 9:01 p.m. to begin the airport's commemoration of Sept. 11, 2001. The timing coincides with the start of 9-11 on the U.S. East Coast. The pylons are programmed red, white and blue and will remain on for 27 hours until midnight Monday, Sept. 11.

Ontario, California (August 28, 2006) --- Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) today released a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Fuel Station at Ontario International Airport (ONT). The proposed station will promote efficient and convenient use of clean fuel for vehicles operated by ONT and its tenants. The public will also have access to the on-airport station which will be close to local streets, highways and freeways, and open 24 hours a day.
(Los Angeles, California – August 21, 2006) Two outreach meetings will be held Wednesday, August 23 and Saturday, August 26, 2006, for the public to participate in the LAX Master Plan Specific Plan Amendment Study. This is the fifth set of meetings of a community-based planning process for the modernization of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
(Los Angeles, California - August 21, 2006) The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners today awarded a contract to Professional Building Contractors, Inc., of El Segundo for a portion of the LAX Residential Soundproofing Program. The $895,070 contract covers sound insulation modifications on 52 dwelling units comprised of one single-family residence, one 9-unit apartment building, six duplexes and 30 condominium units located in Los Angeles City Council District 11.
