To accommodate additional pedestrians during Automated People Mover-related construction in front of the Tom Bradley International Terminal, the outer commercial island will be widened by 6 feet. The inner lanes and right-most pickup lane will be closed overnight, with LAWA shuttles pushed to the outer lanes and stops closed during those limited hours. The island and pickup points will be closed for the duration of the work.
(Los Angeles, CA) Yesterday morning, Los Angeles World Airports opened the expansion to LAX-it ahead of schedule, at about 2 a.m., providing additional capacity for taxis and ride app passengers and drivers. Throughout the day, wait times were minimal, with guests waiting on average 0-5 minutes for their taxi, Uber or Lyft ride. Traffic on surrounding streets has flowed smoothly throughout the day as well.
(Los Angeles, CA) As Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) continues to improve the LAX-it experience half-way through its first week of operations, airport officials today announced an increase in the shuttle fleet to ensure swift transportation for guests to LAX-it, where they now connect with their taxi and ride app drivers. This announcement comes as travel times to LAX and through the Central Terminal Area have seen dramatic decreases since LAX-it’s launch just four days ago.

(Los Angeles, CA) On Tuesday morning at 3 a.m., Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) will open LAX-it, a convenient, amenity-rich, centralized area for guests to pick up a taxi or ride app service that will help reduce the number of vehicles in the Central Terminal Area (CTA) and help free up scarce curb space during major construction at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
