MOTORISTS AND GENERAL PUBLIC HAVE OPTONS FOR ACCESSING LAX DURING CENTURY CRUNCH
Century Crunch is this weekend, July 25-28, and those planning to travel to LAX are being reminded that Century Boulevard at Aviation Boulevard will be closed for 57 hours so that an old railroad bridge can be demolished and replaced by a new state-of-the-art light-rail station for the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project.

LAX ISSUES TRAVEL ADVISORY FOR "CENTURY CRUNCH"
(Los Angeles, California – July 15, 2014) Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) has issued a travel advisory complete with public transit information and tips to help avoid traffic congestion caused by the Century Crunch, a 57-hour closure of Century Blvd. at Aviation July 25 through 28, which is expected to be one of the busiest weekends of the summer travel season.

JUST IN TIME FOR “CENTURY CRUNCH” JULY 25-28: LOS ANGELES, SANTA MONICA OFFICIALS CELEBRATE START OF NEW FLYAWAY® BUS SERVICE BETWEEN LAX AND SANTA MONICA
  Los Angeles and Santa Monica officials came together this morning to celebrate the launch of a new, low-cost FlyAway® bus service providing nonstop service between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and the City of Santa Monica. The new FlyAway® bus service begins tomorrow, Tuesday, July 15, and will operate hourly from 5:45 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. daily, including weekends and holidays, departing both locations 15 minutes before each hour. One-way fare is $8, with children five years old and under free.

AVOID LAX “CENTURY CRUNCH” TRAFFIC JULY 25-28 WEEKEND BY TAKING PUBLIC TRANSIT
 Public transit is one of the best options for avoiding the “Century Crunch,” a 57-hour street closure on Century Boulevard to demolish the Century Boulevard Bridge leading into LAX during the weekend of July 25-28 as part of construction of the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project.

LAX PREPARES FOR FOURTH OF JULY HOLIDAY WEEKEND TRAVEL
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) officials are forecasting more than 823,500 travelers to pass through the airport during the Fourth of July holiday weekend that begins Thursday, July 3, through Sunday, July 6.  This is six percent higher than last year’s actual passenger total of 776,899 for a comparable four-day period, and is consistent with earlier predictions by officials that LAX will experience a record-breaking summer travel season.

LAX COMMUNITY RELATIONS DIVISION HOSTS “LUNCH WITH OUR HEROES” AT BOB HOPE USO -- A SALUTE TO OUR SERVICEMEN AND WOMEN --
(Los Angeles, California – July 1, 2014) With support from local businesses and service organizations, Los Angeles International Airport’s (LAX) Community Relations Division will host “Lunch with Our Heroes” on Tuesday, July 1, in anticipation of the Independence Day holiday.  The event, coordinated for 200 military families, will be held outside of the Bob Hope USO at LAX, across from Terminal 2 on the lower/arrivals level, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

LAX MODERNIZATION UPDATE: JULY CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS MAY CAUSE PASSENGER IMPACTS
(Los Angeles, California – July 1, 2014) In addition to the extreme congestion expected to come as a result of the closure of Century Boulevard on the weekend of July 25 through 28, ongoing construction at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is also expected to impact travelers in the coming month. The efforts, part of the multi-billion-dollar, capital improvement modernization program underway throughout the airport, will be experienced on roadways and sidewalks throughout the airport’s Central Terminal Area (CTA).

LOS ANGELES WORLD AIRPORTS COMMENDS LA CONSERVATION CORPS GRADUATES
    (Los Angeles, CA – June 23, 2014)  Eleven members of the LA Conservation Corps (LACC) were pleasantly surprised recently when, upon receiving their high school graduation diplomas, they also received letters of commendation from Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) Environmental Services Division for their help in improving and maintaining LAWA’s Coastal Dunes Improvement Project preserve area.

BOARD OF AIRPORT COMMISSIONERS APPROVES NEW FLYAWAY® BUS SERVICE FOR SANTA MONICA AND HOLLYWOOD
(Los Angeles, California – June 16, 2014) Two new low-cost FlyAway® bus routes for Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) will be established in Santa Monica and Hollywood later this year, due to the approval today by the Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners of an amended contract between Corinthian Ground Transportation and Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), the City department that owns and operates LAX.
